How unbelievably time has passed, and yet, what have I done?

How do I want to be remembered?

How about regrets?


Bronnie Ware is an Australian nurse, working in palliative care, who gathered the top 5 regrets of the dyings.


I thought it might be precious to share them, not to kill your mood, but actually to lift it up.

We still have plenty of years to live, and it’s never too late to think about how those years can be transformed.


As 2021 has just started, here are some of the most priceless lines we could ever meditate on.


1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me


The most common regret of all. 

How many dreams have gone unfulfilled?

Most people realise that their dreams have not been honoured because of social pressure, or what they believed society was expecting from them.

Being alive is a responsibility and your dreams are as unique as your are. Cherish them!


2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard


A regret expressed by every single male patient Mrs Ware have nursed, because most of the time they were the breadwinners. They often admitted they could have earn much less and be happier, spending more time with their children and partner.



3) I wish I had the courage to express my feelings


Too many people develop illnesses relating to the resentment and bitterness they carried in their lives. Feelings have to be expressed, if your wellbeing is in danger, you can’t swallow it in order to keep peace for others. Expressing love is crucial too, let your loved ones know how precious they are for you. Express it your own way but make it clear, those words will never be forgotten.


4) I wish I had stayed in touch with my old friends


Everyone misses precious friends when they are dying.

We are all caught up by our own lives, but those golden friendship we have, need to be taken care of. Some little time and effort  to others is a gift you’re making to yourself.

Old quarrels have to be resolved before it’s too late.



5) I wish I that had let myself be happier


This may seem uncommon, but happiness is a choice.

Question: Is there an old pattern or bad habit I am stuck in? 

Feeling content about our existence, and pretending to others we’re just fine is not enough, we deserve to laugh, to grab life and enjoy it fully!
